The beginning

My electronic musical career began in 1999. I encountered trance music and the whole genre that time. Actually there is one particular song, which made me discover trance. This track is the 3 Drives on a Vinyl - Greece 2000:

It was so different and so futuristic than anything I've heard before, that it immediately captivated me by its atmosphere and its detailed musical structure. So I started to search for similar tracks the next day. Basically, I was only listening to rap music back then and nothing else, so it was a pretty sudden change. I collected a couple of trance tracks and mixes in the coming few months (despite that the possibilities on the internet were so limited), and I was listening to them all the time. After approx. one year listening to the sets of the greatest DJs that time (
Armin van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold etc...) I decided, that I want to be a part of this game and make my own mixes! I started DJ-ing, because I wanted to show everybody how good this music is. I wanted to give them the feelings and experiences that I received from trance music.
As a result, in 2000-2001, I began to learn beat matching and mixing completely self-educated. At first, I used a free computer software, and later came an opportunity, that I could bought my first hardware. It was a Pioneer DJM 300 mixer and a pair of Pioneer CDJ 100 CD players:

At first I was just playing my music to friends in private parties, but later on I had some chances and played a couple of times in smaller clubs and venues. We had a small but very converging community. At that time people used to listen to radio broadcasts more often, and therefore lots of smaller and larger pirate radio stations were available throughout the country. As a result, I had some opportunity to represent myself and my music through the air as well.

The concept

The Deep & Progressive Future is my own musical concept that I found approx. in 2004 based on the constantly expanding musical impressions of the past years. I thought that I'm going to promote my music and what I represent behind the decks under this "brand". I think that in the electronic music industry there will always be place for the quality underground music. I never wanted to be trapped in a specific genre or between boundaries nor classify my mixes as ‘this’ or ‘that’ style. (Now the boundaries became so blurred that it would be almost impossible.) Rather than that, I wanted to give feelings and impressions to the crowd transferred by my music. So people can discover this wonderful little world within the electronic music. I've never been and never will be a ‘Hit DJ’. I was always a fan of the unknown, but quality music. As I mentioned my musical taste is so various, that you will find both 4/4 music and break beats in my sets as well.

My style

Approx. for the first 2 - 2.5 years I was only listening to trance music. Within trance I was always attracted by the more sophisticated and precisely detailed pieces. As the years passed and as trance evolved, I came across more and more sub-genres. First I discovered the uplifting, and progressive side of it, and later the deeper sounds also captured me. In 2003, thanks to a friend of mine I met a completely different style, by participating a great drum and bass party. That night I decided, that I want to learn how to mix brake beats. From 2004, we attended Budapest's most famous venues with my friends :D Thanks to these parties I have been introduced to house music, which became my new focus within a short time. For a longer period in the mid-2000s I used to listen to trance, drum & bass and house music and I also played all these genres regularly. By now, its expanded with techno, and more tech sounds as well. All these impressions together formed my current style. You will find all these elements in my mixes, as you will listen to them :)

The new beginning

As the years passed by, I missed making music more and more. In 2011, I decided that I will step into it again. So, then came a Pionner DJM 300 again and later a Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 Mk2, and a Reloop Active PA-1600 sound system.

In 2013 I decided to revive The Deep & Progressive Future concept and start this webpage. So, here we are now, and I hope that you will have at least as much joy listening to my sets, as I had making them for You.
